Ok guys this is somewhat of a blast from the past for me. Neil Turbin, come on you all know who I'm talking about and if you don't, then damn someone needs to get caught up on some serious Thrash Metal music here! Yes everyone, I was once a major Thrash Metal fan and to be honest it still burns in my soul still today. Especially when I talk about someone that just blew me away at one time. Neil Turbin was the original singer of the band Anthrax! Come on, you have to know who this man is. The man Rocked! The man made you sit back in your seat and say, "What the Fuck is this?!" If you stayed seated then damn people you had issues. You couldn't walk away when you heard this band perform and even still this man sing! Anthrax was nothing without Neil! I was given the opportunity to get the low down on him and what he's up to today and well do you actually think that I am going to pass this one up? An interview with Neil Turbin, Hell Yah! No Problem! Ok I know this is a Mickey Rourke Newsline, but hey, you're not going to believe this one either, but they have met! What you say? Mickey met Neil Turbin? Oh hell yah! So we have the legend of my head banging phase and the best damn actor I have ever been graced to view have crossed paths!

TA: Hey Neil, I first want to say thank you man for this opportunity! This just blows me away here, like you wouldn't believe!

NT: It is my pleasure to share my thoughts with you regarding Mickey Rourke and anything else you’d like to know. I’ve been a Mickey fan for many years and appreciate how he has remained consistent as a solid character actor. His role is always the coolest one in the movie. You know you’re in for a good ride when you see Mickey Rourke’s name in the credits.

TA: Anthrax, what's the deal there? What happened? I mean these guys just really never did it for me when you left the band!

NT: They never did it for me either. That’s why I left!

TA: Now you have this new band "DEATHRIDERS" and from what I'm hearing you guys really Rock! However I have heard of a few other bands that you were with and or bands that you were, can we say trying out with. Can you tell me a little bit about that?

NT: DEATHRIDERS actually started when I formed my live band in 2003 after the release of my solo album “Threatcon Delta” and has evolved into its most powerful current lineup of Kurt James - Guitar, Sandy Vasquez - Bass, Chris Moore - Drums, Neil Turbin - Vocals. Truth be told I’m doing what I always wanted to do "living the dream" as they call it, playing major festivals all over the world like Sweden Rock Festival and Monterrey Metalfest with a band I started from the ground floor. I’ve been with DEATHRIDERS for 3 years now, so I’m not auditioning for other bands. I’ve got enough on my plate to keep me busy.

TA: Hey man, just curious on your influences? What really got you into Thrash Metal and was that the grand plan?

NT: There was no Thrash Metal when I started. I just wanted to be heavier than Black Sabbath and faster than Motorhead. Mission accomplished!!! I was the First Power Vocalist of Thrash!!! “The ORIGINAL DEATHRIDER”

TA: Hey Neil, anything new and up and coming for you?

NT: AbsoFUCKINGlutely!

DEATHRIDERS are working on our debut album titled “A Fate Worse Than Death". We are also working on launching a new redesigned website at www.DEATHRIDERS.net The band has recently finished a new photo session with famed photographer Justice Howard. DEATHRIDERS.net official website is currently under redevelopment by VISCERAL INDUSTRY.

We are gearing up for some touring in 2007 in countries with great METAL FANS like Mexico , Europe and the US. DEATHRIDERS will continue storming the stage in 2007 with uncompromising POWER THRASH FROM HELL.

TA: What do you think of all these bands coming up today? Are there any that stand out in your mind?

NT: Depends on your perspective of music and what you consider up and coming. My perspective is fast heavy shit with great vocals & melody. I’m surgically selective in what I like to listen to. Rising Bands that I consider a must listen are: Nocturnal Rites, Edguy, Primal Fear, Pagans Mind, At Vance, Dragonforce, Cellador, Beyond Fear, Metal Church, Evergrey, Symphony X, Into Eternity, Shaman and I can keep going but I don’t to take up all your server space…lol….you’ll need it for more of Mickey Rourkes films like SIN CITY 2. If you want to get an idea of what I like to listen to, these are all great bands with great singers. No cookie monsters from Sesame Street on vocals. Only highly skilled dynamic vocals. Imagine ENRICO CARUSO with a wall of ripping guitars, bass and drums. What else would you expect from a metal singer?

TA: Neil you started at an early age with music, did you ever see yourself being where you are today? Any regrets?

NT: I’ve been singing professionally in bands since I was 14. I have only gotten STRONGER. I am at my ultimate best and have NO REGRETS whatsoever. I’m just playing the music and lyrics that I once heard only IN MY HEAD.

TA: So tell me Neil, what was it like working on the first Anthrax album compared to what it's like today working with DEATHRIDERS?

NT: Back in the FISTFUL days there was no organized method to the madness. Everything was TRIAL BY FIRE and done by the seat of our pants. I stayed in Upstate New York (Cortland)waiting for everyone else in the band to complete their tracks at the recording studio in Ithaca before I had the chance to lay down a single vocal track a month later. When it finally became my turn, there was less than 3 days to record all the vocals and mix the entire album. Although it was nice to have an album out, I felt as though it wasn’t the stellar performance it woulda, shoulda, coulda been! Now in DEATHRIDERS we have 4 people who are masters of their instrument and a force to be reckoned with. Everyone in the group communicates like adults and are fun to be around. No “Little Man’s Syndrome”.

TA: Any tips for bands just starting out?

NT: BE AWARE OF GREEDY MOTHERFUCKER MANAGERS, DREKK MANIPULATOR RECORD LABELS, AND THEIR SCUMBALL ATTORNEYS THAT WILL TRY TO FUCK YOU HARDEST WHEN YOU’RE NOT LOOKING!

I AM L@@KING NOW !!!

READ UP ON ENTERTAINMENT LAW BOYS AND GIRLS KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

TA: Now I know our friend there told you a little bit about me and my site. So I'm just going to throw this one in here for the fans. I just have to ask this question as well and then we'll round this up. I was told that you met Mickey years ago. What were your thoughts on the man before and or after you met him?

NT: She’s a very sexy friend and only you know who she is. Let’s keep it that way. What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Mickey on his own fansite. Mickey Rourke is the REAL DEAL. He is a Biker, Boxer, Badass and a Brilliant actor. And he’s from New York, which makes him even cooler with me.

I liked Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man, fukk the critics they don’t know shit about creative artistry. They’re only looking for box-office blockbusters. Mickey was pure personality in that movie.

TA: Other than Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, what other movies have you seen of Mickey's either past or present? If so, which movie stands out among the rest as far as your concerned?

NT: I would have to say Angelheart because it was deliciously dark. Pure intensity, Rourke versus De Niro. I also liked Rumblefish and of course Harley Davidson & the Marlboro Man. I have watched countless other films that he has done and there are quite a few more that I would like to see both past and present, so this is from one Mickeyfan to another.

TA: Neil, thanks again man and we at Mickeyfan really appreciate you giving us a little insight into what's up with you and your outlook into Mickey. You Rock!

NT: Mickey Rourke KEEP THRASHING HOLLYWOOD !!! \m/><\m/
